Audience pour water on Fountain

Rachel Weisz film booed in Venice.

Audience members poured scorn on Rachel Weisz's latest movie The Fountain when it screened at Venice this week.

Directed by her fiance Darren Aronofsky, it spans 1000 years and concerns one man's search for the fountain of youth.

The director is more used to accolades than brickbats for his films including Pi and Requiem For A Dream.

The Fountain, however, seems unlikely to repeat that success after the screening was booed, with many of the cinemagoers claiming it was too complex to follow.

Weisz, however, is standing by her man, saying: "I would love to work with Darren again."
