Veteran actor Christopher Lee is to receive a BFI fellowship at the London Film Festival, it is announced today. Lee, who can currently be seen in cinemas in an extended cut of The Wicker Man, has appeared in over 200 films and is still acting today at the age of 91, having recently completed work on the Hobbit trilogy.

The Fellowship is the highest award the BFI can give and reflects a lifetime of excellent work within the industry. The BFI will also be celebrating some of Lee's work in its forthcoming Gothic season, reflecting the actor's longstanding relationship with Hammer Horror and his iconic performances as Dracula.

"It is a great privilege to be included amongst such a distinguished group of predecessors who have received this Award from the BFI," said Lee.
