White God wins Cannes Palm Dog.

Bestowing a little light relief on the closing weekend of the Cannes Film Festival, the Palm Dog collar for best canine performance went to Hagen played by Body and Luke in White God by Kornél Mundruczó (who also won the Cannes Un Certain Regard top prize)

Jury prize was bestowed on Roxy Mieville in Goodbye To Language 3D by Jean-Luc Godard, the director's own dear pooch.

Special mention went to Moujik for the realistic doggy death scene in Saint Laurent by Bertrand Bonello where the animal hoovers up his fashion icon master's cache of drugs to disastrous effect.

No animals were injured in the course of these films - or awards.
