Mad Max: Fury Road storms to victory.

Mad Max: Fury Road has scored another victory in its awards season campaign, taking Best Film and Best Director at the London Film Critics' Circle Awards, as well as contributing to Tom Hardy's Best Actor win. The film's ongoing critical success is remarkable because science fiction and action genre work has traditionally been relegated to winning only in the technical categories. It could herald a lasting change in how such films are seen and potentially help more independent genre projects to acquire funding.

45 Years won the Best British/Irish Film award and Best Actress (for Charlotte Rampling, who recently spoke to us about her role in the film). British actors were triumphant in both supporting categories, with Kate Winslet winning for Steve Jobs and Mark Rylance for Bridge Of Spies.
