Tribeca announces full line-up

110 features, including 88 world premieres

The Tribeca Film Festival has announced this year's line-up for the festival, which will run from June 8 to 19, including its closing film, Loudmouth, a documentary about the Reverend Al Sharpton, which will have its world premiere at the event.

This year's slate includes 110 feature films and will feature 151 filmmakers from 40 countries. Among the films are 88 world premieres.

Notable premieres including Jon Hamm starrer Corner Office, and Somewhere In Queens, which features Laurie Metcalf and Jennifer Esposito.

There are a handful of British and Irish films in the slate, including Joseph Curran's The Story Of Bones, which chronicles Annina van Neel's tireless work to reclaim and honor the neglected history of St. Helena after the remains of thousands of formerly enslaved Africans are uncovered on the remote island. It features in the Documentary Competition, while Nothing Compares, which screened at Sundance in January, will feature in the Documentary Spotlight. Also, from Sundance, comes Good Luck To You, Leo Grande which stars Emma Thompson as a middle-aged woman exploring her sexuality with the help of a sex worker. John Michael McDonagh's The Forgiven, which premiered at Toronto, will also have a Spotlight screening.

Other A-list names in the line-up include Peter Dinklage, Shirley MacLaine and Danny Glover, who all feature in Paul Dektor's American Dreamer, and Jerry & Marge Go Large, directed by David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada) and starring Bryan Cranston, Annette Bening and Rainn Wilson.

Among the live events, will be a discussion with tennis ace John McEnroe after the world premiere of documentary McEnroe and a performance by rapper Lil BAby, after the world premiere of Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby.

Festival Director and VP of Programming Cara Cusumano said: “This 2022 feature film program leaves us proud and humbled by the boundless ingenuity and passion of our indefatigable filmmaking community. Whether a comedic breath of fresh air or a trenchant expose of the most urgent contemporary issues, this year’s official selections again remind us of the vitality and urgency of independent film in a world that needs it more than ever.”
