Refugee Festival Scotland runs from June 14 to 23, with a focus on the arts and community in the run up to World Refugee Day on June 20.

Events range from gallery displays to a Tea and Talks strand, as well as a number of film events and are taking place at venues across the country.

The films cover a wide range of genres and topics. Among them are Panah Panahi's funny and moving road trip drama Hit The Road, which sees a family take an unusual journey in a borrowed car and Ben Sharrock's Limbo, an empathetic drama about a Syrian asylum seeker in the Outer Hebrides.

Other dramas include Soudade Kaadan's young adult-friendly Nezouh, which focuses on a family under siege in Damascus and Agnieszka Holland's forceful and essential Green Border, about the refugee crisis on Poland's border with Belarus.

Documentaries include Ukraine reportage Oscar-winner 20 Days In Mariupol and Ling Lee's Surviving Translation, which looks at the mistranslation of female immigrants and the irreversible consequences that it can have on them.

Many of the films will feature panel discussions and Q&A sessions afterwards. For further details of all the events visit refugeescotland.co.uk
